My Background
Although I would say I am "self-taught", my formal degree is in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati. I have been painting for over thirty years and teaching art for 6+ years. My hope is that my art strikes a personal cord in the viewer. A story that is told with color, contrast, composition and a deep sense of joy!

My Background
I use many different mediums, such as watercolor, pen and ink, oil and mixed media. I also like to explore with neurographic art, a way to work with the subconscious mind through drawing. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. However, watercolor is usually my choice of medium for its amazing transparency and layering effects.

My Inspiration
Much of my joy and inspiration comes from teaching. I love the excitement of uncovering one's creative side. I am delighted by the beaming smile of a 65 year old student, looking at their painting, after having believed all their life that they weren't creative. I also impart to my students the inspiration nature shares with each one of us, if we only pay attention.
